On the Road Again - Day 3
We left our hotel this morning at 8:30 AM. The weather all day was dreary, mizzling, drizzling, and raining...lightly. Actually, that wasn't too bad. We've driven in worse. No problems. The odd thought that I'd get better gas mileage if our route was downhill raced through my mind. Oh well...gas prices are a lot cheaper in Nebraska. Now...the next question is, how are gas prices in Wisconsin? We arrived at our Nebraska hotel of the night at around 4:30 PM.
At 6 PM, we all went to dinner at The Spaghetti Works in the restored older downtown area of Omaha. We all? DD Daughter, GI Joe, HTP, me, and my folks (T Square and Bug Lady). T Square was the only one with an umbrella. He let DD Daughter use it. She's pregnant. The rest of us just lived with the drizzle. We had a wonderful time comparing various parenting techniques of our own individual parents. Discipline techniques. Oh, how times have changed! I think our memories may have faded a bit as well. We headed back to the hotel at around 9:30 PM with a promise that DD Daughter and GI Joe will be coming to visit sometime in June. I need to start figuring out what baby showers are all about. I'm not too experienced at this sort of thing. Maybe Sis will be able to help me figure things out.
Tomorrow is going to be our longest driving day. Our final driving day. We'll be back home at The Lake tomorrow night. (See Froggy frantically knocking on the nearest piece of wood...the hotel desk in our room...does particle board count?) Actually, it's just going to be HTP and me at The Lake. T Square and Bug Lady plan to head to their big city home away from home, an hour and a half away from The Lake. They tell me that they'll head to their cabin away from home at The Lake sometime the following day.
