Word of the Day

Becusing - Bemusing and confusing.

Before we even had breakfast this morning, we all tackled getting the boat launched and the dock rolled in and stable. The sky was blue, the sun was shining, the wind was blowing gently. Gentle wind is good. White-caps are bad when you launch a boat and put in a dock. As I screwed in the last tie-down to hitch the boat securely to the dock, you could hear the persistent rumble of thunder. It was raining by the time we got back up the hill to the house. Good timing. We? MC Daughter, D Buddy, HTP, #1 Son and Me. Teamwork. MC Daughter took pictures to prove it. Maybe I'll post one tomorrow.

As a reward for all our hard work, I made breakfast. Eggs, Italian sausage, toasted homemade bread, wild raspberry jam, and fresh brewed coffee. I noted that I needed to go buy more coffee so after breakfast, MC Daughter and I headed of to the city to get some groceries. Coffee....of course. Hamburger meat for tonight's supper. Burgers on the grill. And...beer. Beer always tastes good up here in Wisconsin. I think it may be the air up here...or the humidity.

The skies have cleared and it's beautiful outside. Storms predicted for tonight.

Murphyism of the Day

Law of Kitchen Confusion - Number Five

You are always complimented on the item that took the least effort to prepare.

Example

If you make "duck a l'orange" you will be complemented on the baked potato.

Noteworthy Quote of the Day

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy. -- Ernest Benn
