Happy New Year's Eve!

Good morning everyone. I failed to blog yesterday but that was to be expected. Let's get you caught up.

DAAAAAYAAAAM! The wait at the Hoover DAAAAAYAAAAM started after the police checkpoint. All was flowing smoothly and then at mile marker 4, the brake lights went on ahead of me. It took a full one and a half hours to drive from mile marker 4 to mile marker 1. At one point I saw a young man exit from a car a five cars ahead and disappear into the desert environs. I suspect he was running off to exercise his bladder. Anyway, before he returned the cars creeped forward (five car lengths) so when he did return he was easily able to return to his car and family. He was running but there was no need. Quite frankly, I was thinking that #1 son should take the dogs for a walk and meet us up by the DAAAAYAAAAAM. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed on the DAAAAAYAAAAAM.

We dropped the dogs off at my folks place and hurried on to Sam's Town. No time to visit. It was already 4 PM, Vegas time which means that it took us (taking into account the favorable time change) a full eight hours to drive to Vegas this time. We checked into our room. And then...well, no jackpots yet. We had supper at Billy Bob's. This time even their lobster tails were dry. Oh well, I had my oysters and they couldn't ruin those.

We'll be heading down to breakfast soon. HTP and I have a special party to go to here at the casino at 5 PM. I already got my special gift. I think I'm going to keep this gift. They gave us two very special crystal champagne flutes. Gorgeous! I gave the champagne flutes that they gave us two years ago to my daughter. I'm already wondering if I can get a couple more of these beautiful flutes from them? It's always nice to have at least four but I'll live with the two for right now.

I've got champagne all ready to chill. We'll be back up in our room before the New Year arrives. Our tradition is to safely watch the fireworks go off from the windows out in the hall of our hotel. The sounds of revelry will seep up from the downstairs casino.

Again....

Happy New Year!
