Sis and Me - A Summer Brunch in 2008

Word of the Day

Reflectuate - To fall in love with oneself or one's reflection.

I was promised some rain. It doesn't look like we're going to get even a smidgen of rain...just a small rise in the dewpoint. I guess it's time to resume my sprinkler dance.

Sis and I went shopping today after we spent a bit of time planning our Mothers' Day/Fathers' Day Brunch. When we totally exhausted ourselves with shopping, we returned to Sis' place to boil up some brine and get the turkeys all settled in said brine until they're ready for smoking on Friday.

In the meantime, Sis and I will be working on various side dishes and desserts while we're starting our next wine-making project and continuing another. There's never a dull moment here at The Lake.

Murphyism of the Day

Emily's Rule of Sporting Events (the Super Bowl Principle)

The more highly anticipated the sporting event, the less exciting it will be.

Noteworthy Quote of the Day

People ask for criticism, but they only want praise.

- W. Somerset Maugham (1874 - 1965)
