Ten Days and a Wake Up Before We Leave For Wisconsin

Word of the Day

Acluistic: Not having a clue.

The temperatures here in Arizona have been in the 90's for that last few days. We actually had to turn on the air-conditioner one day. That was my fault. If I'd closed the shades on the sunny side and closed all the windows as soon as things started to warm past 70°F outside, we could have made do without the air-conditioner. On the other hand, we now know that it works and we don't have to add it to the warranty list of things that need fixing. We've got the shades pulled right now on the sunny side of the house and the windows closed. It's already starting to warm up.

Our Kool-deck removal crew is here again. They arrived just before breakfast. HTP told them not to use so much water this time. Last time they used so much water that they blew up there grinder. I think they blew up our GFI ground fault too. It doesn't want to reset. HTP will have to look at it...after they leave. He's the electrical engineer. He suspects that someone messed up when they wired it at the time we had the fountain installed. Anyway, the crew don't have to eliminate ALL dust, they just need to keep it lower then our 6-foot wall. Now I just have to worry that some of the neighbors might complain about the noise at such and early time in the morning. Tough! If all goes well, this stupid non-Kool-deck coating will all be removed and we can finally get this patio done. Hopefully before we have to leave for Wisconsin.

Our Marine daughter is back on Parris Island. She's in a BMP (Basic Marine Platoon) until her hip heals and she can go onto MCT (Marine Combat Training). She lives for the time that she's told that she's been "Voted off the Island". Bored to death, she has been using her laptop as a DVD player. I wonder if she can rent DVD's on base. I think her boredom may be short-lived.
